EdTech

Education is not what it used to be. Today's model of education delivery is no longer confined to the classroom. One can learn anywhere and anytime. Information technology in education (EdTech) has shattered the confines of the typical classroom and has made it truly democratic and borderless.

Covid and EdTech

The relevance of EdTech became even more pronounced during the Covid pandemic when students were forced to attend online classes from the safety of their homes. It was an unprecedented and accidental moment in time that turned online learning into a reality, from being just a possibility a few years ago.

IT tools percolated into several aspects of education and altered the face of learning forever. These trends offered opportunities for private players and universities to explore new models of disseminating knowledge to eager students across the globe.

The earliest educational technology experiments took the existing classroom learning models into the online mode to a fair degree of success. They progressed into MOOCs (Massive Open Online Courses) that comprised a good mix of text, video, simulation, AR/VR that enabled an immersive learning experience.
